Just a few hours before the board of Vipers Kristiansand is to gather for a very decisive meeting at 3pm on Friday afternoon, the saga of the bankrupt handball club has taken a new turn on Friday morning. Now only two foreign players remain in the negotiations to raise NOK 25 million to save the club from bankruptcy. – Neither of the two Norwegian groupings we are in talks with are any longer relevant, confirms Vipers Kristiansand chairman Peter Gitmark on Friday morning. This thins the field of potential candidates to invest in the club. – Is your hope weakened now in terms of reaching the goal of a solution? – Yes, and quite significantly. Gitmark says that one candidate withdrew due to misunderstandings on their part. – They thought they could buy the club, they can’t do that in a member’s club. We must comply with the handball association’s regulations. It is not known why the other Norwegian player withdrew. Gitmark is now urging new players to get on the scene quickly. – Come down from the fence and get in touch with the club, then we’ll see what we can do in the last few hours before the deadline.
