The former municipal superintendent is accused of abusing his position to obtain sexual relations with 95 women. He is also accused of raping 88 of the women. The two women are currently over 18 years old. Between the ages of 14 and 67, news has surveyed the 95 women who have the status of being offended in the indictment. The mapping shows a wide range in age of the victims. The oldest woman was 67 years old when she was allegedly raped by the former municipal superintendent. The two youngest victims were 14 and 15 years old. The rapes must have been found in the doctor’s office. – It is the case that in this indictment an indictment has not been issued for all possible fines that may be broken, says state attorney Eli Nessimo. State Attorney Eli Nessimo says that circumstances such as how serious the offense is and the age of the offenders can affect a possible sentencing. Photo: Henning Levold / news Sexual acts with children under the age of 16 usually fall under Section 200 of the Criminal Code. Bye is not prosecuted for a breach of this section. Nessimo says that the case is so extensive that it has been necessary to assess whether it is appropriate to include all possible offences. – It is nevertheless the case that if a defendant is found guilty in a relationship, the surrounding circumstances will be considered. The seriousness of the offence, the surrounding circumstances and the age of the victim will therefore be able to affect a potential sentence, explains Nessimo. The trial against the former municipal superintendent begins on 5 November in Trøndelag district court. Photo: Vegard T. Bye admitted to raping three women and to having used his position to obtain sexual intercourse in 40 of the 95 cases for which he is charged. – Our client has now been questioned in which he has pleaded guilty to three counts of rape because the victim in the legal sense has been unable to resist the act, Hjulstad Nilsen wrote to NTB.
