Two local men died in a micro-plane crash in Oppdal – asking for witnesses to come forward – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

The two victims are both from Oppdal, a municipality with approximately 7,500 inhabitants. – Such an event affects a small community very strongly. Now I have had an ugly accident with the worst imaginable outcome. This is what deputy mayor Tor Snøve says on Monday evening. – Our thoughts go out to the relatives and victims. Now I have to do the best I can to take care of them in this situation. Asking witnesses to come forward On Tuesday, the Norwegian Aviation Accident Investigation Board is conducting investigations at the scene. But it is too early to say anything about the cause of the accident. The microplane has no black box and there are thus few traces or data to retrieve about the microplane and the trip itself. Johannesen / news Accident inspector Gjermund Holm Kjerkreit describes the damage to the microplane as extensive. – It is mainly because of the fire that broke out shortly after the accident, says Holm Kjerkreit to news on Monday evening. The Accident Investigation Board is investigating how the plane came down and what damage it sustained in the impact. On Tuesday, the Accident Investigation Board will transport the wreckage to the airport in Oppdal to carry out closer investigations. Johannesen / news The accident inspector says that the microplane is of the aeroprakt type. A Ukrainian-built plane with room for a pilot and a passenger. Microplanes have a lower maximum weight than normal small planes, but safety must be just as good, says Holm Kjerkreit. – They must still meet requirements that safeguard the safety of both pilot and passenger. The sixth serious microplane accident in ten years Ulukka is the sixth serious microplane accident in the last ten years. A total of 11 people have lost their lives in the accidents. This is shown by statistics from the annual reports of the Norwegian Aviation Association and the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority which news has reviewed. – It has made an overwhelming impression on the whole of air sports Norway. There is no doubt about that. We have had very good statistics over several years now. So this came as a shock to us all. That’s according to John Eirik Laupsa, secretary general of the Norwegian Air Sports Association. In the last three years, there have been no serious micro-flying shutters – until yesterday. I will help as best I can, and assess it continuously according to what the need is. – It is a difficult day for everyone in Oppdal, adds the deputy mayor.
