The police received a report at 00:14 about a drowning accident at Øvre Longumvannet in Arendal. – There was one person who had been seen swimming there, who had gone under the water, says Wang. The police were alerted by a friend of the swimmer. The man was found at 0.53 by a diver from the fire service at a depth of three metres. – He was lifeless and was taken to the hospital in Arendal. After two or three hours, it was confirmed that he had died, says Wang. The man is not a Norwegian citizen. Relatives in the home country have been notified. There, a foreign woman was taken out of the water at Brekkestø. – The ambulance was on the scene before the police. CPR was started on the spot, says Frode Wang.
