Two children, both Danish citizens, have been picked up by air ambulance and flown to hospital after an accident in the ski lift in Hemsedal. The children attended ski school. Skistar CEO Andreas Smith-Erichsen confirms to news that two minor children have fallen out of a ski lift called Lodge Express. – We have reported the case to the police, the Accident Investigation Board for cable cars and the Norwegian Railway Inspectorate. We have spoken to a doctor and he confirms that both children were transported by air ambulance. One child has the status of seriously injured, the other as slightly injured. Both children were conscious on departure. – Were the parents present? – I am not aware of that. We must return to that. We are in a phase where we are surveying what has happened, says Grøndahl. According to the ski center’s website, the Lodge Express lift opened this winter. The six-seater lift has a capacity of 3,000 people per hour, and goes 1,733 meters up the facility.
