– The municipality is setting up a committee to review the municipality’s follow-up of the affected children and their relatives, they write in a press release. The committee delivers its report by the end of September this year. It was 15 October 1994 that five-year-old Silje Marie Redergård was found dead at the top of a toboggan run at Tiller in Trondheim. Just one day later, three boys aged 4, 5 and 6 were named by the police as being responsible for mistreating her to death. Today, everyone is in their 30s. In February, the public prosecutor came up with his conclusion after reviewing the investigation. – On the basis of the investigation that has been carried out, we have not been able to conclude who inflicted violence on Silje, says state prosecutor Per Morten Schjetne at the Trøndelag state prosecutor’s office. – There is no gradation of guilt in that decision. It is also very important for me to point out that we must observe the presumption of innocence here. That means that all three boys are to be considered innocent, says Schjetne. The public prosecutor believes there is no more investigation the police can do to provide answers to what happened to the girl.
