In recent hours, the emergency services have responded to several traffic accidents in Southern and Eastern Norway. There are slippery roads in many places, according to the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. The roads are plowed and salted, but the ground is so cold that it is not certain that the salt will work. Vegtrafikksentralen encourages people to adjust their speed according to the conditions, and to keep a good distance from other road users. Collided in tunnel At 11.30 the emergency services received a report of an accident involving several vehicles in the southbound direction in the Pauler Tunnel on the E18 in Larvik. The emergency services have finished their work at the scene. The road is now being cleared by a contractor, informs the South-Eastern Police District. According to the police, it was difficult to get an overview of the accident scene. A truck train has probably hit the tunnel wall. Two cars then collided, the Sør-East police district says. No serious injuries have been reported in connection with the accident. Until further notice, the E18 is closed in the southbound direction at the Skykrysset. There is a detour sign. According to the police, it was slippery at the scene when the accident happened. No one should be injured. On the E18 in Asker, there has been a collision between a car and a lorry. The accident led to the right lane being closed for a period, but the road is now open to normal traffic. In Tønsberg, the E18 has been cleared in the northbound direction after a car drove into the guardrail. No one was injured, but the area is very slippery, according to the police. The bus has ended up in the ditch and needs assistance from a heavy-duty tow truck, writes the Sør-East police district on X. A little after 1 p.m., the emergency services received a report that a car had crashed into a tree. There were two adults and one child in the car when the accident happened. All those involved have been examined by health personnel and appear unharmed, the police say.
