There has been a collision between a tourist bus and a construction machine of the dumper type on the E8 near Kaldslett. The collision took place at 4pm on Monday afternoon. – The driver of the bus is trapped, and work is being done to get the person out, said operations manager Karl Erik Thomassen shortly after the accident. at 5 p.m. he states that they have freed the driver, and that he has been sent to the University Hospital of Northern Norway (UNN) in an ambulance. The driver of the dump truck has also been taken to UNN. – It is still described as a serious accident, says Thomassen. The bus driver was alone in the bus, and there was only one driver in the construction machine. The police do not know the extent of the damage to those involved, but the ambulance is on the scene. E8 was closed for a period after the accident, but should now be open. The police have started an investigation to clarify the course of events.
