The incredible images from the sports team’s surveillance camera tell their brutal language. It was the camera’s last pictures before it was also taken by the wind. The entire artificial grass on one pitch was lifted up and refurnished. As an unwelcome gift, broken glass was scattered in the second lane with the result that both are now useless. Os and Fusaposten have sent the videos he shares to an expert who determines that this is a tornado, or a tornado – and that it is very unusual in Norway. – It is both unusual and sensational. It’s not often you see something like this in this country, at least not with such material damage as a result of such a phenomenon, says Erik Kolstad, climate researcher at Norce to the newspaper. General manager Thomas Lyssand is busy growing chrysanthemums, but had to move large parts of the production after almost one hundred square meters of glass disappeared in seconds. It is 350 meters as the crow flies from where the glass disappeared in the roof to where it was deposited in the artificial turf field. Took the glass with him – We received a message from a neighbor who said that something had happened, and when I got here I saw that large parts of the roof were gone. If it had been a normal wind, it would have blown one way or another, but here everything is twisted, so I probably think it’s a tornado, he says to news. As for the second track, the sports team will try to go over it with a special machine, after they recently went to great lengths to pick glass. The sports team has picked up the biggest pieces. If we have to take up all the gravel and rubber granules, or lay a new cover there too, it will cost us more than we have, he says. – It is a demanding process, and we have never done it before. Don’t know if anyone else has done it before either, says the daily manager. – I have cried several times this weekend, I must admit that honestly. Now we will have teams in Søre Neset, we have teams in Kuventræ, we have teams in Lysefjorden and we have teams in Øyane that have been allowed to train and will play matches.
