Torbjørn (8) got a Christmas motif on his milk – news Troms and Finnmark

– It is very boring to have milk without a Christmas design. Torbjørn Bruvoll (8) says so. He cannot tolerate cow’s milk, and therefore uses oat milk as a substitute. But Torbjørn has wondered why oat milk does not have a Christmas motif on the carton at this time of year, as cow milk does. – Will it be a little different for you than for the others, do you think? – Yes. They get Christmas motifs on their milk. I have been waiting quite a long time for the same. This is what the oat milk package and Christmas whole milk look like in the store. Torbjørn’s mother, Ildri Jørgensen, says that for several years they have been thinking that there should also be Christmas decorations on the oat cake. – Weslesöster has a Christmas motif on its milk, so we have talked about how we hope that the oat milk will also have it this year. But then it didn’t, she says. That was the reason why Torbjørn sent a letter to Coop earlier in November with questions about the holiday motif on the milk carton. Marketing coordinator at Coop Nord, Stine Lillebrygfjeld (TV), was touched by the letter from Torbjørn. On the right sits mother Ildri Jørgensen. Photo: Tove Jensen / news It was Torbjørn’s own idea to send the letter. – I think as a parent that when he suggests something like that, I have to recognize that he wanted to do it. And then he contributes to making a difference by actually getting recognition for his wish. Photo: Private Great commitment Jørgensen sent the letter the son had written, and also posted it on Facebook. There, Torbjørn’s wish received a massive response. – Almost 30,000 people have seen what I posted. So then I think that there has really been a commitment to this, says mother Jørgensen. – It has been very nice. So maybe it’s not just Torbjørn and us who have thought about this. Do you think all milk cartons should have a Christmas motif? Yes 🎅 No 🤶 I don’t think any milk cartons need Christmas decorations 🥛 I have no opinion about that 🫤 Show result Stine Lillebrygfjeld, marketing coordinator at Coop Nord, tells news that it’s nice when young people get involved in the way the eight-year-old in Tromsø has done. – It was impossible not to be moved by the nice letter we received from Torbjørn, she says. – And then we think that it is very important, and especially so early on, that you feel that you are being heard and that you can make a difference. And especially for us at Coop, which is owned by our customers, it is extremely important that we take the feedback we receive into account. She says that they pass on Torbjørn’s message to those who are responsible for own brands in Coop. Locally in the north, oat milk is not produced, but they still wanted to do something special for the eight-year-old. 8-year-old Torbjørn cannot tolerate normal milk. He drinks oat milk. But there is something he has missed. Had a new carton delivered to the door That’s why they made some very special oat milk cartons for him, with a Christmas design. He had them delivered to his door by the store manager at the local store. – It was nice. There are many nice pictures on it, says Torbjørn about the Christmas box. Now it says that looking for a Christmas motif on oat milk will become a permanent fixture on the shelves for Christmas. – Furthermore, we must follow up Coop Noreg and our own brands, and announce that Christmas designs on oat milk are desirable. It may seem like a small thing to many, but to someone it means a lot. I think we have to take that seriously, says Lillebrygfjeld. – But in the end, it is up to those who work with it to decide what happens next. Stine Lillebrygfjeld, marketing coordinator at Coop Nord Photo: Rune Stoltz Bertinussen / COOP – Can we perhaps get it ready for next Christmas? – We certainly hope so. We must now in any case ensure that the right people get the feedback. Meiner Torbjørn pre-builder outside the board Guro Birkeland is general secretary of the Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association. She confirms that most people with a milk protein allergy are children. – Many people grow out of it during their upbringing. Few young children are lactose intolerant. But it increases throughout growing up and into adulthood, she says. Secretary General of the Norwegian Asthma and Allergy Association, Guro Birkeland. Birkeland thinks what Torbjørn has done is very good. And she believes the letter to the eight-year-old helps to reduce the outsider’s closet. – The fact that all children who are looking forward to Christmas can receive milk in Santa boxes is a joy. It is a burden to live with needing a special diet and thinking about it every day. That’s why things like this are important so that someone with food allergies doesn’t feel so different, she says.
