Lost his joy in life When Audun Mo was going to run the Oslo marathon four years ago, he lost his partner Karine in a cycling accident. She had picked up his starting number in the center of Oslo. When Karine was cycling home, she was hit by a lorry and killed near Bjørvika. – It was in many ways like a candle being blown out. A storm arose soon after, a complete chaos of pain, shock and an enormous range of emotions. Audun and Karine’s daughter Sara was only 14 months old when it happened. The accident turned their lives upside down. – It wasn’t just the joy of running that disappeared. It was the joy of life that was lost. And without that light it was dark, quiet and empty, says Mo. For a long time, Audun was unable to run further than 30 metres. Little by little, Audun was able to run further, but the Oslo marathon was still out of reach. – There were simply too many emotions and bad experiences connected to the center of Oslo and the streets of Oslo after the accident. Want to take Oslo back On Saturday 17 September, the family stood on the sidelines at the Oslo marathon and cheered.
