Today it is summer, sun and heat – but soon it will be cold weather and snow – news Nordland

Meteorologist Ingvild Villa in Tromsø has simple advice for northerners. – You have to dust off the shorts and wear them today. For the meteorologists report around 20 degrees and sun in several places in northern Norway. But the joy will be short-lived for the northerners. During the week, there may be rain, snow and a lot of wind. So much so that the crown prince couple confirmed on Monday afternoon that they are canceling a planned anniversary visit to Træna. – Due to severe storms that have been reported at Træna for the next few days, it is unfortunately not possible to carry out the planned program during the Crown Prince couple’s visit to the municipality. The visit must therefore be postponed, and will be carried out at a later date. The crown prince couple will both turn 50, the crown prince in July and the crown princess in August. Now Træna, on the other hand, has to look far to celebrate the couple. This is due to strong winds and heavy rain. Winds of up to 17 meters per second have been reported, with gusts of up to 23 meters per second. Træna lies exposed in the sea gap on Helgeland. There will be stormy weather here on Wednesday, which puts a damper on a royal visit. But already from tomorrow it will be colder – and on Thursday there will be freezing temperatures, snow and stiff gales. And so it will continue for the rest of the week. Snow has also been reported in several other places, for example on Saltfjellet. Bjørnfjell is, of course, 500 meters above sea level, so luckily there will not be snow everywhere. Down by the sea lies Narvik. Here it is 18 degrees today, but here too it will be colder in the coming days. Not as cold as in the mountains, but three degrees and rain is nothing to cheer about either. This is what the long-term forecast looks like for Bjørnfjell: Photo: Andreas Budalen – Summer is making a comeback – Today it is fine, so to speak, in the whole country, says meteorologist Villa. But it will be a short-term change. There will be some precipitation this evening and tonight in both Western Norway and Eastern Norway. The big difference between the parts of the country is that summer is making a comeback in østafjell. Just look at the long-term forecast for Oslo: Photo: Andreas Budalen – The weather change will feel extra dramatic Western Norway has had a nice weekend, but a change of weather is coming. And Western Norway north of Stad and Trøndelag will be partly affected by the same low pressure as Northern Norway will be. But as bad as it will be in the north, it won’t be. There is a high pressure area to the east of us, which has brought good weather across the country. But this weakens and is replaced by low pressure in the north. With these fronts that will bring precipitation in the north, there will also be a temperature difference. – The change in weather will feel extra dramatic when it’s as nice as today, says Villa. In Bodø, the temperature can drop to five degrees during the week. The same will happen in Tromsø, Alta and Svolvær. According to Villa, the low pressure will affect the weather right into the weekend. – When you look at Northern Norway as a whole, we can say with certainty what will affect the weather in the coming week. There is still a little hope. – There may be local variations.
