The 22-year-old has previously been open about the anxiety that has followed him since 2016. On Sunday, he sat at home in Molde and watched his teammates win 3-0 over Sandefjord in Åråsen. Just 15 minutes later, captain Gjermund Åsen scored 1–0 – a goal he dedicated to Svendsen. – I sat and watched the match myself, and it is touching. Gjermund has been a pillar of support for me in the time after I came out with my story. He has always stood up for me. He is one of the reasons why I was able to play football last year and that I have participated this year, says the LSK winger. Svendsen opened up about the anxiety for the first time in an interview with VG last summer. He has a small job ahead of him this autumn. The two of us have had a pretty close relationship, and this score here is really for Tobias, says Åsen, who hopes he will see his team-mate in the dressing room again soon. – He is an incredibly nice person. Incredibly talented. But again – the person must feel good outside of football and. It’s a long life. Whatever he needs, he knows he’s made it here. We really hope that Tobias will return, adds Åsen.
