The police in Agder reported at 3.21 on Tuesday night that the cabin had caught fire, but that the five people who were in the cabin got out on their own. – They got out and reported the fire themselves, says operations manager in the police, Øyvind Hægeland to news. Three people were taken to hospital for treatment of burns. There were a total of five people in the cabin, as well as two who slept in a sea bow on the site. The sea bow is intact. However, the family’s dog has not been accounted for. Just before 5 o’clock, the police state that the cabin is completely damaged and burnt down, and that the fire crews on site are working on extinguishing the blaze. Had to go out by boat There are no other buildings in the immediate vicinity, but extinguishing work was made difficult because there is no road to the cabin. The fire crews therefore had to be transported out to the island by boat. The fire also spread to the terrain. – The fire service says that there is no danger of spreading to other nearby cabins, as there is a good distance between the cabins, close to 50 metres. It is difficult to get to, and a fire boat has been dispatched. They are now laying out hoses and concentrating on extinguishing the fire in the terrain, operations manager Hægeland told NTB shortly before 4 o’clock. The fire crews quickly gained control of the actual spread of the fire in the terrain, and established that there were no people in the neighboring cabins. Burnt down – The cabin is completely burnt down, operations manager Øyvind Hægland at the Agder police district tells news.
