– One person was flown by air ambulance to Oslo University Hospital Ullevål due to the extent of the damage, says police operations manager John Repstad. On Thursday at 1845 the police received a report that a lone car had driven off the road on Heiveien in Vegårshei. Difficult to get person out There were three people in the car. – We received a report that it was difficult to get a person out of the car, says Repstad. One person was not conscious when the emergency services arrived. – I cannot say what kind of damage it is, but the accident appears to be serious, says Repstad. Two other people who were conscious were transported to Sørlandet Hospital in Arendal. – They were sent to the trauma unit, he says. The accident happened close to Hauglandsvann. A serious accident The police’s forensic technicians and accident and analysis group (UAG) from the Norwegian Road Administration are also on their way to the scene. – These are called out when we have serious car accidents and personal injuries to find the cause of the accident, says Repstad. The driver lost control in a turn. The car has crossed the opposite lane, hit the guard rail and continued down a slope. That is what Fædrelandsvennen writes. – Our people at the scene have spoken to two witnesses who saw the car before the accident, says Repstad.
