Police and ambulances are on the scene and are working to get an overview, but operations manager Håkon Hatlen confirms that one person has died. – There were four people in an apartment in the center of Halden. When the police arrived at the address, three of them were unconscious. Together with the ambulance, cardiopulmonary resuscitation was started on the spot. One man has been confirmed dead. Two others have been transported to Østfold Hospital by ambulance. The police suspect that the cause of the incident is the consumption of drugs. They do not yet know what kind of drugs have been taken. – Are these people you know from before? – I have no information about that right now. – We are at the scene and are trying to obtain as much information as possible from witnesses and from the crime scene, so the further investigation will hopefully give us more information in due course, says the operations manager. The unconscious were men in their 20s. The fourth person who was in the apartment was conscious and awake when the police arrived at the scene. He is the owner of the apartment, according to the police. The police in Halden now receive assistance from the forensics department. Reporters on the scene state that there is a major emergency in the area. The road is closed in both directions on the stretch past Immanuel’s church. People are asked to stay away from the scene so that the emergency services can work undisturbed.
