2 February 2024 at 19:12 Red Cross: Three Palestinian Red Crescent members killed in Gaza The Red Cross states in a press release on Friday evening. Two of those killed were near the entrance to Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Younis. The third was located close to the main office of the Red Crescent which is in the same area as the hospital. – There is terrible news coming from our colleagues in Gaza today. We send our deepest condolences to the families of those killed and to their friends and colleagues in the Red Crescent, says Anne Bergh, secretary general of the Norwegian Red Cross. International law requires that hospitals, ambulances, health personnel and patients are respected and protected in every situation, even during war. For several days, fighting has been going on in the area around the hospital. – We are very concerned about the safety and lives of the patients and the several thousand people who have sought refuge at the Al-Amal hospital, says Bergh.
