When the police knocked, they quickly became aware of what was going on in the house. They came across several hundred cannabis plants of various sizes. The third has been sentenced to three years in prison for the illegal activity in the detached house in Åsnes in the interior. Two of the three men have pleaded not guilty to cultivating cannabis plants. The third has admitted illegal possession of drugs. The police have also charged a fourth man in the same case. He has disappeared and is wanted by the police. None of the four men are natives of the interior. Acquitted of electricity theft One of the defendants owned the house where the cannabis production was. He was also accused of stealing electricity for heating and lighting in the house. According to the indictment, there was a question of an amount of well over NOK 46,000. But in the district court he was acquitted on this point. The Østre Innlandet District Court points out that no evidence has been provided as to who actually made the switch. – We are satisfied that the three were sentenced for producing drugs and the length of the sentence. Lawyer Magnus Torfoss defends one of those who was acquitted of fraud. – My client is very satisfied that he was acquitted on this point, but is otherwise dissatisfied with the verdict, says Torfoss to news. They must consider an appeal. Narco for millions Information from the police shows that the production in the detached house in Åsnes could yield close to 37 kilograms of cannabis. The street value of the drug is probably several million kroner. According to the police, the drugs that the men produced in the house in Åsnes were not intended for their own use, but were to be sold.
