– The police arrested during the afternoon and evening yesterday several men who we suspect may be linked to the violent incident in Haraldsvang, says police attorney Christine Kleppa in a press release. Three of these are charged with attempted murder, while two men are charged with grievous bodily harm. A man was found with gunshot wounds in Haugesund on Monday evening in a hiking area at Haraldsvang in Haugesund. Then the police feared that several people were injured after the incident. Another victim was later identified by the police, and has received treatment for stab wounds in hospital. Does not rule out more arrests The police must, for the sake of the investigation, be restrained with information in the case. – We cannot rule out more arrests, charges or victims. What we can say is that none of the victims appear to be random victims. We seek to clarify what roles the various people involved have had, says Kleppa. Those involved are in their 20s and 30s. All known to the police from before. The incident happened in Haraldsvang in Haugesund. Comprehensive investigation The police have carried out searches at several addresses, and have made seizures in the case. They do not want to go into detail about what this consists of. The forensic investigations have been completed. – It is too early to go into the sequence of events, or motive. A number of witness interviews have so far been carried out, and this work continues, says Christine Kleppa. The police are still interested in tips in the case.
