A fourth person is critically injured. The four were standing under a large tree in the rain when lightning struck. The injured were taken to hospital. A little later came the news that the married couple had died, and a little later also the 29-year-old. The Secret Service and the park police came quickly to the scene after seeing that the lightning struck the tree, writes NTB. A video from Reuters shows the lightning that struck the tree across the street from the White House. Photos posted on social media showed many ambulances and a fire engine with flashing blue lights in the park.
