A major automotive manufacturer with a solid presence in France is recalling a significant number of vehicles due to  fuel leak hazards .

Ford, one of the most recognized brands in the automotive industry, seems to be facing what could be described as a  public relations crisis . Like all car manufacturers, product recalls are part of the process, but Ford is currently juggling multiple concerns. Earlier this year, the company was caught in the crosshairs of an investigation in the United States regarding numerous complaints from motorists. The highly popular  Ford F-150 pick-up trucks  have been reported to have serious transmission issues that lead to unexpected downshifts, raising safety concerns for approximately  1.3 million trucks  produced between 2015 and 2017.

In France, however, the recent recall is less extensive but still significant, affecting over  75,000 vehicles , specifically  77,722  units. The problem this time isn’t related to transmission failures but rather to  fluid leaks  observed in several models. According to L’Argus, which reached out to a spokesperson for Ford, the  fuel line  may get damaged due to constant friction with its protective support. This progressive wear can lead to leaks, posing risks such as reduced vehicle power and, in the worst-case scenario, potential  fire hazards .

So, which specific models from this American manufacturer are involved in this recall? A total of  four models  are affected: the  Fiesta , the compact SUV  Puma , and both commercial vehicles, the  Transit  and  Tourneo Courier . If you own any of these vehicles, it’s crucial to check their production year.

The recall specifically pertains to  Fiesta models  manufactured between December 2021 and July 2023,  Pumas  produced from December 2021 to September 2024, and the  Transit  and  Tourneo Courier  made between March 2023 and September 2024. Ford is responsible for notifying affected customers via email about the necessary steps for checking their vehicles.

If you notice fluid spots under your car or detect a lingering  fuel scent  in your vehicle’s interior, do not hesitate to bring it to one of Ford’s authorized service centers. Additionally, if you have any uncertainties, you can visit Ford’s official recall page at https://www.ford.fr/support/rappels. By entering your vehicle’s  VIN  (Vehicle Identification Number)—the 17-character alphanumeric string typically found on your vehicle registration document—you can quickly determine if your Ford is subject to this recall.

In an era where vehicle safety is of paramount importance, such recalls serve as an essential reminder of the ongoing responsibility manufacturers have toward their customers. As Ford navigates through these challenges, it emphasizes the need for transparency, safety, and rapid response to potential hazards, ensuring that drivers can trust the vehicles they choose. With proactive steps, Ford aims to address these issues and restore confidence among its customer base.
