Iver Tildheim Andersen has had a great season. The victory at Lillehammer is especially loud. Didrik Tønseth has been close to him, at the same time we know that Harald Østberg Amundsen has been reduced in the first part of the season due to covid illness. Aukland and Bjørn believe the latter is close to joining the squad after winning freestyle in the Scandinavian Cup and National Championships two weekends in a row. – Now he has built himself up again and showed with the NM gold here that he is on his way to old heights, and he has bronze from this exercise in Oberstdorf. It speaks for Østberg Amundsen taking one of the two vacant places. Then you have to evaluate Iver Tildheim Andersen, whether he is able to win a medal in the WC, against Sjur Røthe and Didrik Tønseth, Bjørn believes. They should take people who can win ski races, not take people who finish fourth either, says Tildheim Andersen, who at the same time hands out one of the places to NM winner Harald Østberg Amundsen: – How does it look to your own part? – If I had been on the national team it would have looked very good, I think, smiles Tildheim Andersen. When asked how Nossum values a World Cup victory, his answer is as follows: – It is absolutely an advantage to win a ski race and there are a lot of people here who have won a ski race. Then you would have been left with exactly the same, because you have people who have won the WC, but not necessarily won this year. Then you know that they have historically been good in championships. It is always an advantage to have been in a championship, so there is a lot that needs to come into play here, says Nossum.
