– They must be allowed to say what they think – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

– I support the jumpers. Sports are for them. It has been the wish of the support apparatus to facilitate the jumpers. If the jumpers feel that something is amiss, then they must be allowed to say what they think. It’s the only way to get ahead, says Maren Lundby to news. news meets the former jumping star in Granåsen on Tuesday. Lundby is on hand to give a lecture. She has considered back and forth whether she should speak out in this case. But because of all the excitement the jumpers have received recently, she feels it is right. – It’s incredibly annoying to see all the hate the show jumpers get during the day, because I think regardless of who has done something wrong, if someone has, then there must be room to be able to express their opinion and say if there is something you don’t like is satisfied with, she says. In February, it became known that the jumpers wanted to get rid of national team coach Alexander Stöckl. On Friday, outgoing show jumping manager Clas Brede Bråthen resigned in protest because of the Stöckl case. – It is boring for the jumpers and for Norwegian jumping that it has become like this. It is a great shame that this is what will characterize the news picture when good results are finally delivered, says Lundby. – Has probably been sitting for a long time. Lundby explains that she initially did not want to take sides, but believes that the interests of the jumpers should always come first. – If there is dissatisfaction in a group, then you always have to bring it up and find a way out of it. I understand very much that they have done that, she says and continues: – It is incredibly important to get things like that out of the world if you are going to perform on the ground. It has probably been a long time coming, explains Lundby. In December, Lundby chose to close. Now she works as a project manager at the private school Wang. But the jumping queen is still close to the environment. – I also sympathize with Stöckl who says that he has been unaware of this. It’s really just boring that it ended up in the media. I am frustrated by that, she says. Success in RawAir It is still not clear what will happen to Stöckl. He is not part of RawAir, which is currently underway, and has not been seen on the ground since the ski flying WC in Kulm in January. He has a contract that runs until 2026, and on Friday he told news that the plan was to stay in Norway. – We live here. This is where our friends are, we are well established and our daughter goes to school here. So we have no plans to move, Stöckl said then. The Norwegian jumpers have done well in RawAir. On Sunday, Johann André Forfang won the race in Holmenkollen. He is in second place in the summary behind Austrian Stefan Kraft. Eirin Maria Kvandal leads the women’s RawAir before Tuesday’s race in Granåsen. – It is nice regardless that they get good results, then it would be silly to speculate on why it has turned out that way. But I wish them good results now in the match. They really deserved that, says Lundby.
