June 21, 2022 at 11:34 Telia expands 5G network: These places will have mobile technology in the next six months More than two out of three Norwegians now have access to 5G networks. Telia is now expanding its network access even further with 87 new cities and municipalities across large parts of the country. – Next half year, a large number of cities and municipalities in Møre og Romsdal, Trøndelag, Vestfold and Telemark and Vestland will receive 5G from Telia with higher speeds, much better capacity and not least good coverage, says CEO Stein-Erik Vellan in a press release. These include Molde, Ålesund, Oppdal, Røros, Notodden and Skien, Sogndal and Voss, in addition to a number of other municipalities. They will have access to mobile technology sometime during the next six months. Telia is also working on rolling out 5G networks in Tromsø and several cities and municipalities in Troms and Finnmark. The battle for the development of the 5G network is between Telia, Telenor and Ice. In addition to Telia, Telenor is also well under way with development in large parts of the country during 2022, while Ice has started in Oslo. (NTB)
