– A forest fire is now being extinguished along national road 92, between Gievdneguikoa and Lapholuoppal, Jarleif Sørensen informs at the 110 exchange. At 11:05 the first of two forest fires broke out in Kautokeino municipality. The fire was reported by a private helicopter company, which operates tourism in the area. The pilot estimated that the fire was about 100 meters wide. The fire broke out at Havgajavri near Upper Anarjohka National Park. At 11:36, the 110 exchange ordered a forest fire helicopter from Alta. A new forest fire, which is estimated to be larger than the first, was reported at 12:03. – The requisitioned helicopter was sent there and extinguishing is in progress, says Sørensen. Ground crew on the way Sørensen informs that ground crew from Kautokeino are on their way. They do not yet know the total extent of the forest fires, and whether they need support for extinguishing from other municipalities.
