The victim had to have an organ removed after he was stabbed several times in the stomach in Trondheim – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

– There is good reason to believe that the person or persons who stabbed the victim with a knife did so with the certainty that the stabbing would most likely result in death. This was said by the judge in Trøndelag district court, Eirik Lereim, during the detention meeting on Sunday. The victim is said to have been stabbed several times in the stomach with a knife during the night. Without medical treatment, the victim could have died, Lereim explained in court. The victim had to have an organ removed from his stomach. A total of three men in their 20s have been charged and remanded in custody for the attempted murder. Shouted “snitch” before the stabbing It was the night of Sunday 11 August that a man in his 20s was stabbed on an open street in Trondheim. It all happened while there were many people in the streets. – I look at this type of election very seriously. And probably does something to people’s sense of security. This is what police attorney John R. Sødahl Furunes says to news. “Snitch” must have been shouted just before the stabbing, he adds. The police have a hypothesis that the stabbing is an act of retaliation. – Someone has said something to the police that others thought they should not have said, explains the police attorney. On Sunday, a 21-year-old man was detained for four weeks with a letter, visit and media ban, and two weeks in full isolation. The 21-year-old does not admit criminal guilt and has not explained himself to the police. He also did not wish to explain himself in court. From before, two men in their 20s have also been detained for four weeks. The suspect tried to hide from the police – We believe that the third suspect, who was remanded in custody today, deliberately tried to do what he could to avoid being arrested by the police. – He tried to run away from the prosecution, adds Furunes. All three have been wanted by the police after the attempted murder in central Trondheim on the night of Sunday 11 August. On Wednesday this week, two of them were arrested and then remanded in custody for four weeks, while the 21-year-old was still at large. He was then wanted both nationally and internationally and Trøndelag police district issued a public appeal for the 21-year-old on Friday evening. – He tried to stay hidden and even then up in Lillestrøm municipality, says the police attorney. The police arrested the man on Saturday night in Lillestrøm municipality. – Very serious matter On Thursday, the other two men were remanded in custody for four weeks with a ban on letters and visits, and two weeks in full isolation for both. During the detention meeting, it was also known that the police believe that the injured man was stabbed. – This is a very serious matter. The police take very seriously the fact that a person is stabbed with a knife on an open street in Trondheim. That’s what Furunes said in court on Thursday. Furunes states that both the three accused men, as well as the man who was injured, are known to the police from before. – The incident does not seem random, he said earlier this week. The police have not seized any knives. Several people are said to have helped On Friday afternoon, the police arrested two more people, accused of helping and hiding people after the attempted murder. The arrest took place at Tiller in Trondheim. The two people who were arrested on Friday are not charged with having participated in any physical way in connection with the attempted murder on 11 August. – But they are accused of having helped people who have tried to evade prosecution, says Furunes. The two are said to have helped and hidden several of the people charged with the attempted murder, he says. The police do not rule out that more people may have contributed to trying to hide the three accused. Published 18.08.2024, at 15.39 Updated 18.08.2024, at 15.59
