4 August 2022 at 00:54 The US approved Swedish and Finnish Nato applications A large majority in the US Senate has given its approval to Sweden and Finland’s Nato applications, reports CNN. Only one senator voted against, Republican Josh Hawley of Missouri. In the US, all that remains is for President Joe Biden to ratify the decision. All NATO’s 30 member states must say yes before the two Nordic countries become NATO members. Seven countries remain. They are Turkey, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Spain and Portugal.
