The temperatures in July are lower than average

– The summer has taken a break, it feels like. That’s what Elisabeth Johansson says, who is the host at Trollheimshytta, which is located off the beaten track in Trollheimen. – Down with us we are very warm. But it has been a pretty long period of cold weather to be in the middle of July. Here the temperatures have been between 5 and 12 degrees in recent days. – And there is often sleet and snow and freezing temperatures in the mountains. Today it will snow on Snota, which is a very popular day trip. So there are not many who are so eager to go right now. Colder July Western breezes and fresh breezes in exposed places are the weekend’s weather forecast for Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal, among others. It tells on-duty meteorologist Dina Stabell. – Sunday morning it turns more to the south. It can come up in a partly light gale on the coast, she says to news. – Otherwise there will be clouds and rain showers – more of what we have been used to lately. The best weather is Eastern Norway, which can enjoy itself this weekend. At Storhornet in Trollheimen, on the other hand, minus 1.1 degrees was registered on Saturday night. Be prepared for storms and cold, even on short trips, was the advice from the thermometer at Trollheimshytta on Saturday morning. Photo: Private The meteorologist can confirm that the average temperature in July has been low. – Normal average is 14.1 degrees. So far this year, it has been at 12.5, she says, and adds: – It was some pretty hot days at the beginning of July, which is easy to forget. Little visit Back in Trollheimen, Johansson has just wished a good trip to two two-legged and one four-legged. All equally cheerful despite the weather. The host would rather see more people do as they did. – We actually have quite a few visitors. But whether it is due to the weather or something else now after the corona seasons, we are a little unsure. Night to Saturday, there were 40 people who spent the night in the cabin in the heart of Trollheimen. This is the highest number so far this summer. – A Saturday in mid-July, it should be at least double, says Johansson, who adds that there are 85 beds in the cabin. Jarle and Turid Kåsen were on a trip up the mountain on Saturday morning. Both they and the dog were equally happy, despite the weather. Photo: Private – What do the guests who have taken the trip think? – They are a little extra happy to come forward, she laughs. – They are happy that we have a drying room, and that there is a warm and good shower. She also notices that the guests arrive earlier in the day – than if it had been fine weather and people had spent the day out. – There is nothing to be intimidated by, just because it is a little gray at times. It’s good and healthy to get out anyway. Hope next week According to meteorologist Stabell, it is only to prepare for the gray weather to continue in Trøndelag. – Monday and Tuesday it continues a bit with rain showers, and quite similar temperatures as it is now this weekend and as it has been lately. Wednesday it looks like it will be mostly stay-at-home weather – and maybe the opportunity to see the sun. – It is a bit far ahead in the forecasts, but it is at least a hope, says the meteorologist. For those who do not thrive best in low temperatures and rain, this is the day to look forward to. – It can get up to 27 degrees – that is the best one can hope for on Wednesday.
