The Norwegian Health Authority has forwarded the case regarding the perpetrator in the double murder case at Otta to the State Administrator in the Interior. Now the State Administrator will examine the health care of the accused. After Sel municipality and Sykehuset Innlandet HF reported the serious incident at Otta to the State Health Inspectorate, the State Administrator in Innlandet now takes over the follow-up, and opens an inspection case. Was admitted to a closed psychiatric hospital Defense attorney Anders Bjørnsen has previously confirmed to news that his client has had a long history of mental health and health care. The man was admitted to Bredebygden Psychiatric Hospital, a now closed institution in Otta. The man was remanded in custody for four weeks with a ban on letters and visits and full isolation for two weeks. On Friday, the accused’s defender, Anders Bjørnsen, confirms that the accused has agreed to further detention for 12 weeks. He has not decided on the question of guilt, says his defender. Police attorney Lars Rune Ringvik confirms that the police request the accused be remanded in custody for a new period. New interrogations are planned for next week. Sel municipality will be under scrutiny Two days after the murders, the Norwegian Health Authority reported that they had received a notice from Sel municipality following the incident. Both the municipality and the hospital informed news that they have a duty to notify the Norwegian Health Authority in the event of serious incidents. Shortly afterwards, they received another notification, this time from the specialist health service. Now, therefore, the State Administrator in the Interior will oversee Sel municipality. The accused himself called the emergency services about the stabbing that took place in a housing complex in Otta on Monday. The police came to the scene and found two dead people in one of the apartments. Friends of the couple described the murder as unreal.
