The owner of the animal, a young woman, had the serval illegally imported in December 2021. After it escaped this summer, she was charged with keeping the animal as a pet and for having introduced it to Norway. In questioning with the police, the woman has pleaded guilty. Noah offered this summer to find a solution for Niño and secured a place for the serval at a rescue center in South Africa. Instead, the Norwegian Environment Agency has decided that the serval will be killed.
