The SAS strike could lead to cancellations at Widerøe – news Vestland

900 SAS pilots in Norway, Denmark and Sweden go on strike after the negotiations did not arrive the day before. The news of the strike has all created chaos at the airports and great frustration among thousands of travelers who fear that the holiday trip may go down the drain. Had to partially close the customer center Meldinga also quickly triggered a chaotic mood at one of SAS’s competitors. Many travelers in Utkant-Norge like to combine flights with Widerøe and SAS. – Only 15 minutes after the strike became a fact, there was a 600 percent increase in inquiries to our customer center. We then had no choice but to close the chat and the phone to be able to answer e-mail and SMS, so that we can handle more customers at the same time, says communications manager in Widerøe, Catharina Solli. DOES NOT EXCLUDE CANCELLATIONS: Communications Manager Catharina Solli in Widerøe. Photo: STIAN MICHALSEN / STIAN MICHALSEN Can host canceled departures The strike at SAS can also lead to canceled departures at Widerøe, the communications manager states. – The reason is that many of our crews like to carry other places in the country than where our planes start, and many of these like to fly with SAS. If their departures are canceled, it can be a problem to get crews to our bases when they go out and fly. Get your ticket refunded The communications manager in Widerøe is still aware that you do not have to worry if you have bought tickets from Widerøe. – If you have bought combination flights with Widerøe and SAS, we will help change the tickets. If this was not possible, you will be refunded the ticket, says Solli. It was also hectic Monday afternoon at the travel agency Berg-Hansen. – We got busy when the strike was a fact. Customers call in one set and wonder how they should behave, says customer service representative Ingeborg Steinsland.
