At midnight, the deadline for the preliminary vote among the pilots in SAS expired. After 15 days of strike, the strike was called off on 18 July. In the agreement that was negotiated, the pilots agreed, among other things, to a pay cut, and that the agreement should apply for five years. SAS, for its part, undertook to give all the pilots who were made redundant during the pandemic their jobs back. The pilots were far from satisfied with the agreement that was signed, but now a majority of those organized in SAS Norway Flygerforening (SNF) have agreed to the agreement, the union writes in a press release. Also in Denmark, a large majority of the pilots have voted in favor of the agreement, reports Danish TV 2. Weak July numbers The strike had major consequences for the airline. 3,700 flights were canceled and around 380,000 passengers were affected. Compared to June, the number of passengers for SAS fell by 32 per cent in July. For the competitors, the strike has been a good deal. Newcomer Flyr had a record month in July with 260,500 passengers. Widerøe also experienced a positive effect of the strike, and delivered good figures this summer.
