The RBK coach will use Solbakken as a sparring partner – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

– We have chatted a bit on the phone and sent a few messages. This is how Alfred Johansson describes his own dialogue with national team manager Ståle Solbakken around the time he became the new coach at Rosenborg. Solbakken was still head coach at FC Copenhagen when Johansson was employed by the Danish club. The relationship has been good since then. Ståle Solbakken hired Alfred Johansson at FC Copenhagen. Photo: VEGARD GRØTT / BILDBYRÅN Natural conversational partner – I have talked to Ståle about many of the decisions I have made in the past five years regarding my own career. Johansson has now taken the step from junior coach at FC Copenhagen to Rosenborg, where he will try to return the club to its former glory. The Swede is clear that Solbakken has been important to him. – Learning about football from him, but also getting his support as a coach. So Ståle will always be a natural person to get advice from. Have faith in Johansson – I have spoken to Alfred since I hired him as U17 coach many years ago, says Ståle Solbakken to news. He is sure that Alfred Johansson and his team will do great at Lerkendal. And Solbakken would like to continue talking to RBK’s new coach. – That we still talk about football is only natural, says Solbakken. Does not relate to youth criticism Even before he came to Rosenborg, there was criticism that Johansson is both too young and inexperienced. Among other things from the RBK legend Mini. – Does anyone know him at all? It seems very strange to hire a junior coach for Norway’s biggest club, Mini told TV 2 in December. Johansson says it is perfectly fine that people are critical of him, but will not spend much time on it. – I don’t think I’m too young. It’s perfectly fine for people to have their opinion, but I don’t relate to what people outside Rosenborg think about my age. Now he would rather focus on getting RBK back to the top. A job he admits can take time. But in the long term, the goal is clear. – Rosenborg must be at the top of Norwegian football and play in Europe.
