This is shown by the latest figures from Statistics Norway. The rise in prices thus appears to moderate somewhat. Among other things, it is the prices of cars and fuel that have contributed to dampening price growth. The prices of cars fell by 1.4 per cent from December to January 2024, while the prices of petrol and diesel fell by 4.3 and 5.0 per cent in the same period. In 2023, the price increase was a total of 5.5 per cent and was largely driven by the sharp increase in food and drink prices. Last year there was historically high price growth, Statistics Norway determined in January. Food prices have risen by 8.8 per cent in the past year.
