The pressure suddenly dropped to zero – news Urix – Foreign news and documentaries

Both of the two pipelines to Nord Stream 1 have been affected by the pressure drop, says a spokesman for the operator Nord Stream AG to the German news agency DPA. German authorities report to the city council that they do not know what the cause is. On Monday, a sudden drop in pressure in Nord Stream 2 was first reported. Shortly afterwards, the Danish Maritime Authority announced that a gas leak had been observed south-east of the island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea, where the new pipeline runs. Swedish maritime authorities have asked everyone traveling in the area to stay at least five nautical miles away, because the leak could cause the gas pipeline to catch fire. The cause of the leak is still unknown. A journalist from the Brussels branch of the political website Politico tweets that officials in Berlin believe both pipelines are vulnerable to attack. Now that the pressure has dropped in Nord-Stream 1, German authorities are investigating whether it is safe to travel near it. Never finished because of the war The construction of Nord Stream 2 was, to all intents and purposes, completed when Russia invaded Ukraine. It was filled with gas, but the tap was never opened. As a result of the war, the German authorities decided not to put it into operation. Since then, Russia has closed the gas supply to Germany via the old pipeline, Nord Stream 1.
