– The defense finished the search last night. They have left the place now. The company that has been here for two days resumes work out there. As of now, we are awaiting a report from the Norwegian Armed Forces. We hope it will arrive very soon, says chief of the Innhavet police station, Hans Kristian Grunnvoll. On Thursday, the police were to pick up a suspicious freezer box from Sagfjorden in Hamarøy. The freezer was found in the same area where Stian Hole was reported missing last summer. Although the police do not link the freezer box directly to Stian Hole’s disappearance, they still want to raise the freezer box in order to rule out that it has anything to do with the case. The defense was brought in on Thursday evening because they had different equipment to what the company that was originally included in the search used. The police are still waiting for a report from the Norwegian Armed Forces. In the meantime, the police will continue the search. – Would it have been natural for you to be notified if the Armed Forces have made a discovery? – Almost others have to answer that. But we will provide more information to the media when we receive a response from the Norwegian Armed Forces. How long they can continue to search for the freezer is currently unknown. – I am not the right person to answer that, but there is room for a little more work beyond. The company that has been working for two days will continue to do a job throughout the day, says Grunnvoll. He is not as optimistic about whether they will actually find the freezer box as he was on Thursday. – Now a larger area has been searched than yesterday, so the chance looks smaller. I might have had more hope yesterday than today. Published 22.11.2024, at 09.04 Updated 22.11.2024, at 09.24
