Later that evening, the missing person was accounted for. At the same time, information emerged that the person had been subjected to violence and deprivation of liberty. The police then went into action and arrested a man in his 30s with ties to Vesterålen. Two more people were later arrested. Two of the accused have now been remanded in custody for two and three weeks respectively. Both remand prisoners have been placed in total isolation and banned from letters and visits for the first two weeks of their imprisonment. The last accused was released on Tuesday. – The case has been a high priority in recent days and a number of technical and tactical investigative steps have been carried out. There are still several witness interviews, as well as a review of seized items, says police attorney Kine Reierth to news. Police attorney Kine Reierth confirms to news that the police have secured the latter video. They believe it is real and that there are more videos. – The video is part of the collected evidence, and will be important for the overall assessment of the case. Lawyer Finn Ove Smith represents one of the accused. He attended a detention meeting on Tuesday. – My client does not believe that he has not done anything criminal, says Smith. He will not comment on the videos that have been circulating on social media. Order excluding the public The police have also asked the court to exempt the detention orders from the public. Therefore, both defenders in the case are tight-lipped. – The detention orders are exempt from public disclosure as they contain information that could influence the testimony of any witnesses and thus damage the investigation, explains Reierth. Lawyer Thea Ekran Gustavsen represents the man who was arrested on Monday. Nor will she comment on the information that there will be videos of the sequence of events. – What I can say is that my client has been detained for two weeks, Gustavsen confirms to news.
