28 June 2023 at 18:21 The police have arrested the perpetrator after threats with an ax The police are outside an address on Pilestredet in Oslo, where the man who was behind the threats with an ax this afternoon is supposed to be. At 19:00 the police report that the man has been arrested. – The goal is to gain control over the person in question. We haven’t succeeded in that so far, but there is no drama. We are in no rush to get the person out, and are in a negotiating position now, said operations manager Bjørn gunnar Nysæter of the Oslo police earlier on Wednesday afternoon. The man is already known to the police. There should still be no danger to others. The police nevertheless ask that people in the immediate area not to visit the address, so that they have space and peace of mind to work at the site. – Continuous assessments are made, but we have the person isolated in that apartment, says Nysæter. Welhavensgate is closed to both car and public transport in connection with the incident.
