Unfortunately, we have not succeeded in finding the perpetrator, and we realize that we are not getting any closer now. This is what police attorney Trine Hanssen in the Innlandet police district writes in an e-mail. In August, news wrote about the gay couple Karoline and Tina Granum from Nord-Aurdal in Valdres, who received a letter with frightening content in their mailbox. The letter they received was handwritten, and from an anonymous sender. Anne Mette Sandberg-Enger from Nord-Aurdal has also received hate mail. This is the letter she received. It was in her mailbox last March. – The person is clearly not healthy The letter that Karoline and Tina Granum received started like this: “Damn so sick. If I had known that my kid was going to go with the “son” of two pussy-lickers, I would have changed schools. Which of you is the mother and who is the father? They think it was a very unpleasant experience. – You get a little scared. You never know what people can come up with, said Karoline Granum shortly after the incident. Today, she thinks it’s a shame that the letter writer hasn’t been found. – It is of course very boring that we do not get an answer as to who sent the letters. But at the same time I can understand that this can be difficult to find out, she says. What do you think of the person who writes these letters? – I hope that person will come to their senses and stop doing it. And then I think a bit about the fact that the person in question really should have had help. That’s also why it’s a shame that you can’t find out who it is. The person is clearly not healthy, she says SHOCKED: Tina and Karoline Granum were shocked after they received the anonymous and grossly harassing letter in their mailbox at home in Nord-Aurdal. Photo: Lars Erik Skrefsrud / news More investigative steps Police attorney Trine Hansen states that they have recently received no new letters in the investigation. – We have taken the investigative steps we have deemed relevant, but this has not led to anyone being suspected or charged in the case, she writes. Among other things, the police have tried to map what are the common features of those who have received the letters. In the past, the police have also stated on a general basis that in such cases they can examine for DNA, fingerprints and also carry out handwriting analysis. Although the investigation has ended, the police are still interested if anyone has important information or tips. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre was one of those who allowed himself to be touched by this case. He highlighted the hate letter case from Valdres in his New Year’s speech and said, among other things: – Next year, we will do like Karoline and Tina. Don’t be afraid, don’t pull away, don’t duck, said Støre.
