The police received a report of a threatening situation in a detached house in Fredrikstad on Thursday morning. An armed man was then in the house. – There has been a threatening situation with a man in a detached house. We have a lot of resources at the scene and are trying to get in touch with the person in question, said operations manager in the East police district Trond Lorentzen to news. The police believe that the man must have been armed with a two-handed weapon. At 15.32 the police report that there is a check on the scene. It will no longer be a danger to anyone else. The man was found dead in the home. The police believe that the man probably took his own life. The next of kin have been notified. The police will now take natural investigative steps. Neighbors were asked to stay inside and the area was closed off to all traffic. – We fully understand that not being able to go home to your own house is nothing special, but it is security.
