14 December 2023 at 14:30 The police are investigating ID thefts from around 40 Nav users West police district is investigating identity theft linked to Nav benefits. On Thursday, the police received a report from Nav Kontroll Øst regarding several cases of possible identity theft. So far Nav Kontroll has discovered that around 40 of their users have had their bank accounts changed for payment, so that benefits such as pensions and disability benefits have been paid out to someone other than the person who should have the money. The police are in dialogue with Nav and various banks with a view to freezing funds and hopefully reversing erroneous payments. So far, one person has the status of accused in the case.
