The police are in the process of questioning new witnesses in the Tengs case at the request of the prosecution – news Rogaland – Local news, TV and radio

Last week, the man in his 50s who is charged with the murder of Birgitte Tengs in 1995 was questioned for the first time since October. – In the interrogation, the target, together with his defender, presented a request for new investigative steps that they want implemented, says police attorney Fredrik Martin Soma to news. New questioning of witnesses The man is also suspected of being behind the murder of Tina Jørgensen in 2000. But the topic for this questioning was exclusively the Tengs case, the police confirm. However, they are reluctant to provide information about the new investigative steps. – It is mainly about some new witness interviews and investigations, which we are now working on. We will work on this towards the summer, says Soma. This means that the police say that the goal of completing the investigation during June may fail. Soma still believes that the progress plan after the summer is in place. – What else came out in the interview? – I do not want to go into what the aim has been questioned about this time. We have asked our questions to which he has answered, and he has also come forward with a request for these investigative steps, he says. – Does he cooperate well? – He interrogates, answers the questions he is asked and is offered to comment on evidence in the case, so I will not say anything more about the interrogation situation, says Soma. Jørgensen interrogation just around the corner He nevertheless confirms that the new interrogation was only about the Tengs case, but a new interrogation is planned where the man will also answer questions about the Jørgensen case. This will probably also happen during June. – Will this interrogation be exclusively about the Jørgensen case? – We have so far not taken a position on how to solve it, Soma concludes. It is planned that the trial will begin at the end of October this year. Haugaland and Sunnhordland District Court have been asked to set aside a period of twelve weeks.
