8 March 2023 at 07:03 The number of abortions is increasing – back to the level before the pandemic The number of abortions is now 9.8 per 1,000 women, reports FHI. From 2021 to 2022, there has been a 10 per cent increase in the number of abortions. It is back to the same level as 2019, before the pandemic. In total, almost 12,000 abortions were performed last year. In 2022, 11,967 abortions were performed, compared to 10,875 in 2021, an increase of around 10 percent.
