After all, I was in the third year of high school, so one had to look proper, she chuckles. For Laila, a long relationship is over. Now there will be a new photo and a new driver’s license. Photo: The Norwegian Road Administration Now it’s urgent Dufseth is one of a total of 31,899 people the Norwegian Road Administration is now looking for who have not yet renewed their driving licence. – If you do not renew your driver’s license by 1 January 2023, the driver’s license is invalid and you are therefore no longer allowed to drive, says Linda Charlotte Bergmann Hichour, who is the head of the Norwegian Road Administration’s office in Inlandet. If you drive with an invalid driving licence, you risk NOK 5,000 in fines. From April, you will be reported if you are stopped in a control. Now it is urgent for those who want to continue driving after the New Year, says department director Lill Tove Amundsen in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration in a press release. Bergmann Hichour in the National Roads Administration states that they have plenty of available hours, and specifies that there is room to manage it within the deadline. – But then we are dependent on people paying us a small visit, she says. Appointments can be booked on the Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s website. Everyone concerned has received several SMSes from the Swedish Road Administration. Hoping for 34 new years – Then I have new proof, smiles Dufseth as she strolls out of the traffic station. She thinks it is a bit strange to have to replace the old card. It has been involved in a lot, but she emphasizes that fortunately it has not been involved in any accidents since she got it. – There has been no rough driving. Or – there may have been a couple of speeding tickets, she admits, but quickly clarifies that she has never lost it in any case. – Now I’ve had it for 34 years, and I plan to have it for at least another 34 years. NEW EVIDENCE: – I remember that the excitement was great when I was going to drive up on my 18th birthday, 13 October in 1988, and the joy was even greater when I stood with this note in my hand, says Laila Dufseth.
