The Norwegian Health Authority opens inspections of St. Olav after the introduction of the Health Platform – news Trøndelag

– We cannot rule out that the Health Platform has been instrumental and has gone beyond the lives and health of patients, says Vaage to news. On Thursday, it was decided that the Norwegian Health Authority will open inspections of St. Olav after the introduction of the Health Platform. The aim is to carry out the inspection as soon as is practically possible. It was Adresseavisen that first mentioned the case. – Recently, there has been information about patients who have received delayed treatment and delayed diagnosis. In one case, we also had a patient who died, where it cannot be ruled out that conditions at the Health Platform may have contributed to this, says Vaage. – Then the severity increases, he says. Eight serious incidents The State Administrator in Trøndelag has received 71 reports of concern following the introduction of the Health Platform at St. Olav’s hospital. Eight serious patient incidents are now being investigated more closely, says Vaage to news. – There is reason to believe that some of what has been the problem has already been fixed, says county doctor Jan Vaage. Some of the serious notifications are from the first weeks when the Health Platform was introduced. The Norwegian Health Authority and the State Administrator have been following closely since the introduction of the Health Platform in November 2022. Both before start-up and afterwards, says Vaage. – We welcome an inspection and will cooperate with the National Health Inspectorate and the State Administrator on this. However, we have not received the notice yet, and it is therefore not natural for us to comment on the case, says managing director Grethe Aasved at St. Olav’s hospital. On Thursday, the steering group proposes that the Health Platform be postponed until 4 November at the hospitals in Helse Nord–Trøndelag and 27 April next year in Helse Møre and Romsdal.
