27 October 2022 at 12:31 The National Audit Office: The Norwegian Defense Forces’ frigates still have significant shortcomings The National Audit Office states in a new investigation that the Norwegian Navy’s frigate force is still less operational than assumed by the Storting. – Today we see that improvements have taken place, but that several of the challenges still apply. It goes beyond the frigate weapon’s operational capability, and is very serious, says Auditor General Karl Eirik Schjøtt-Pedersen. The investigation of the frigate weapon’s operational capability is a follow-up to a report from 2016/2017. At the time, the National Audit Office concluded, among other things, that there were major deficiencies in the vessels’ technical condition, access to spare parts and training of personnel and manning.
