Hamas has reported the death of what they refer to as their commander in Jenin on several social media, and expressed grief over the loss. It was VG who reported on the case first. The Israeli Defense Forces announced on Friday that they carried out an operation in the city of Jenin in the West Bank. They say they killed a Hamas leader named “Wassem Hazem”, as well as two other people. Hazem’s father lives in Skien. He tells news that he has had confirmation from his son’s mother and wife that he has been killed. The 31-year-old was a Norwegian citizen. – They didn’t have to kill him. They could just arrest him, but they didn’t want to, he says to news. Hamas writes on Telegram that they have lost three men from their group. He himself says that the son is not a Hamas leader as Israel claims. – That is not true. He has no contact with Hamas.
