The British newspaper has published several pictures of the Norwegian fir tree, where it looks a bit strange. According to tradition, Oslo municipality has given a fir tree as a symbol of Norway’s gratitude to Great Britain for help during the Second World War. The tradition stretches back to 1947. But this year, as last year, the tree is met with ridicule. Last year, the British believed that the tree was worn out and wondered if Britain was at war with Norway. This year’s Christmas tree, which was felled in Sørkedalen in November, arrived in the English capital in a slightly different shape than it looked when it was cut down.
