The National Antiquarian says yes to a light rail over Bryggen – news Vestland

In a press release on Friday, the National Archives reports that they accepted that the light rail will be built over Bryggen. – The medieval city of Bergen and the world heritage city of Bryggen are cultural environments of great national and international value. Therefore, it is essential to be careful when planning for such a large initiative as the Bybanen. There will always be uncertainty present with such large-scale construction work, but good work has been done to minimize the risks, says National Antiquary Hanna Geiran in the press release. In December 2022, the National Archives opened for the Bybanen to go over the Bryggen, but then they pointed out that the zoning plan was not good enough to take care of the area’s world heritage status. Then they would advise the county council to complain about the zoning plan to Bergen municipality.
