The municipal party decides whether they want her in Parliament – the minister himself will not answer – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

– We have noticed that she has not given any answer as to whether she is relevant and then it is probably most natural to think that she is not relevant. That’s what Oscar Tørres Lindstad, member responsible for Røro’s Labor Party, says. He had hoped that Karianne Tung would run for Parliament again. – When I spoke to her last winter, I strongly encouraged her to make herself available to the nomination committee, says Lindstad. For now, the municipal party must decide who they would most like to have in the Storting from the Labor Party. And in the past, several of the local laws have recorded the digitization minister. In the first recording round, 20 out of 42 local teams had recorded that they wanted Karianne Tung in the Stortinget. And this is what the municipal party is now working on, but without an answer as to whether Tung actually wants to return to the Storting or not. news has repeatedly tried to get an answer from Karianne Tung, but without a response. – It would have been fine if she had clarified this – Everyone who says yes to running is a potential candidate, says leader of Ørland Arbeidarparti, Fredrik Sandness. He believes that Tung is nevertheless a current candidate despite the lack of clarification. – It would of course have been fine if Karianne had clarified this, but at the same time she will be a current candidate as she is a minister today. In other words, some local groups believe that Tung is still a relevant candidate, while others have written off the minister. Sandness adds that she was also not on the list during this period, but that she became minister anyway. – There are well over 80 names that have been recorded so far and all of them have probably not clarified whether they are relevant or not. Karianne Tung sat in the Storting from 2013 to 2017 and has been Minister for Digitization and Administration since October 2023. In the meantime, she has been away from politics. Karianne Tung made a comeback in politics when she was appointed minister for digitization last year. Giske got 104 votes against 68 votes for Tung. Nor did the minister end up further down Trondheim Ap’s top five list. Commentator and debate leader Hans Petter Sjøli in VG told news the day after the meeting in Trondheim. But to end up in the Storting, Giske also needs a majority when the final list from Ap in the electoral district Sør-Trøndelag. At the nomination meeting on 30 November, Trondheim Ap has 57 of 133 delegates and needs 10 more votes to get a majority. But Giske can also be found on the lists of other municipal parties, for example in Oppdal where he is proposed in 2nd place. – It is about the policy he wants to put forward. And that is what is important to us – to bring out the social democratic line. That’s what the leader of the Oppdal Labor Party, Tor Snøve, says about why they want Giske into the Storting. Need to find out if people want to run Until the final list from the Labor Party in Sør-Trøndelag is adopted, the nomination committee must prepare a proposal for a joint list. This work starts on Monday 2 September. – In the process that starts now, it will be clarified whether people stand or not. This is according to the leader of the nomination committee Sør-Trøndelag, Roar Aas. He says they must get answers from the politicians who have not said whether they want to run for the Storting or not. – Hopefully we will come up with a list proposal that will not be completely turned around towards the nomination meeting. Because before they get together to finally decide who they want in the Storting, the municipal party can come up with proposals for changes to the list. – We will have an open process, and then we will do our best in the nomination committee to put together a list that creates enthusiasm in the local team, adds Aas.
